Virginia Republican Senators Pull A Fast One on Democrats: Rushed to Pass Bill

I thought you’ll find this interesting: The current numbers for Virginia’s state senate are 20 Republicans and 20 Democrats. On Monday, while one of the 20 Democrats was away attending Obama’s inauguration, the Republicans sneaked in a bill that they hurriedly passed. The bill requires the redistricting of the state’s senate seats: a plan that would give them – the Republicans – more seats and control of the house for a very long time, if not forever. Despite a strong protest by the Democrats who asked for the voting to be postponed for just another day, the bill was pushed through by the Republicans and as expected, passed with a 20 to 19 margin.
